If you're like me, you have a gazillion paper shopping bags at home. I now carry my own reusable shopping bags and always turn down store bags, but I think I've accumulated enough through the years to open my own store. Taking a cue from one of my treasured finds, a bayong covered in scrap fabric by What If Handmade, I decided to reuse the shopping bags as gift bags by covering them in scrap gift wrapping paper.
Between the smaller wall calendar bags and these bigger shopping bags, I won't have to buy gift bags for a long, long time.
A delightful fortress

How brilliant, and a great way to use up those itty bitty pieces of wrapping paper. Thanks for the great idea!
That's beautiful! And I'm so glad to see you back here.
My wife collects used wrapping paper and reuses it on gifts and she also has a collection of shopping bags. Over here, the store charges for a shopping bag that is cloth and sew together with good double stitching at the stress points. I think it is a good idea.
This is a great idea and the bag you pictured looks great. We also have plenty of old shopping bags and scraps of wrapping paper, so I think we'll give this a try.
Your gift bag is looking so awesome! I wish I could make it too. I would really appreciate if you could share the tutorial on this handmade gift bag.
